This year’s winter fishing activity in Yamba is a little later than usual, with its peak generally experienced around ANZAC day. We can say, however, that the fish are biting in Yamba!
There are reports of the Bream and Blackfish run being the best we have experienced in years with most fishos recording catches over the 1kg mark around the Yamba lighthouse.
While offshore conditions have been quite variable over the last few weeks, we have also heard good reports from anglers in boats off the North-East corner of Yamba who have pulled fish exceeding 3kg.
Keen anglers who are staying in Yamba during August will be pleased to hear that the ‘Tim the Bream’ competition is back on again after a 30 year hiatus. We will post more details in the coming days.
If you are looking to fish during your stay in Yamba, there are both onshore and offshore options available. Check out our previous post on Yamba fishing charters for some more information.
